Holiday lights and your home...
What are the dangers?

It’s hard to believe the year will soon be over and the holiday season will be upon us! Many of us like to celebrate by decorating our houses with outdoor lights. While few things are more festive, it’s important to know some safety issues concerned with them. No corded outdoor lights should ever be plugged into an outlet that is not ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected. And unless such a GFCI outlet has a weather-resistant cover, rain or marine moisture may get in and trip the circuit – making your holiday displays go dark or worse. Be sure to check the cords on all your decorative lights for wear and deterioration from temperature extremes in storage. Next info to go: More holiday light thoughts!
